Biography
Chris Grant focuses his practice on Private and Public Sector Labor Unions, Election Law, Prevailing Wage and Unpaid Overtime. He represents labor unions in NLRB matters, collective bargaining, and grievance-arbitration. He has tried multiple unfair labor practice cases before the NLRB and public employee cases in state court, and has handled appeals in the 7th, 8th, and D.C. Circuits and before the Missouri Supreme Court. He regularly advises unions and 501(c)(3) and (c)(4) organizations on state-wide initiative petitions, advocacy and political work, and lobbying limits.
In 2025, Chris received the Lawyer of the Year award from Missouri’s Lawyers Media as part of the legal team protecting Amendment 3, a reproductive rights constitutional amendment. He advised groups working to place the measure on the ballot, and then worked with other attorneys including Loretta Haggard and the ACLU to defend the Amendment 3 from a slew of unprecedented legal attacks, to ensure a vote on the measure.
Chris graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2001 (J.D., summa cum laude). Before attending law school, he helped lead a successful union organizing campaign at his workplace, serving on the organizing and negotiation committees. He has been an editor for The Developing Labor Law and How to Take a Case Before the NLRB treatises. He is an Adjunct Professor at St. Louis University School of Law and Washington University School of Law, where he teaches courses on non-traditional workplaces and on law and literature.
