Christopher Hexter is Of Counsel. Before becoming Of Counsel, Chris served as a partner at the firm from 1981 until 2011. He represented both employees and unions in the private and public sectors in Missouri, Illinois, Iowa and Indiana in a variety of legal proceedings and industries, including construction, manufacturing, printing, public education, and entertainment.
Before joining the firm, Chris practiced civil and criminal law for the then Legal Aid Society of St. Louis (now Legal Services of Eastern Missouri). In 1988, he joined the Section of Labor and Employment Law's Committee on the Development of the Law under the National Labor Relations Act and became its Chair in 1997. He also served as Union Co-Editor of The Developing Labor Law (4th ed.) which is a prestigious treatise used by most labor lawyers nationwide. Before his election as Chair, Chris was on the governance Council of the Section, its Executive Committee, and served as Vice-Chair and Chair-Elect of the Section.
Chris graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1969 and its School of Law in 1972. He resides in University City with his wife, Michele.
