Nancy M. Watkins
Nancy Watkins focuses on Labor and Education Law. After graduation from law school Nancy worked as a law clerk for Judge David Dixon of the Missouri Court of Appeals. She co-authored Wrongful Discharge: Breach of a Union Contract and the Duty of Fair Representation for the St. Louis Bar Journal and has served as a speaker for the Missouri Bar on the subject, "Winning in Employment Litigation." Nancy has also presented seminars for union members on topics including sex harassment and discrimination and the duty of fair representation. Nancy was appointed by Governor Jay Nixon to serve on the Missouri Public Defender Commission which is responsible for the hiring of the state public defender director and for determining the philosophy of the state public defender system. She is also a member of the Missouri Sentencing Advisory Commission which works to recommend sentencing that promotes certainty, consistency, and proportionality of punishment and encourages the rational use of correctional resources. Nancy received her undergraduate degree from Washington University in Saint Louis in 1978 and her law degree from the University of Missouri - Columbia in 1981.
